The Burlington City Recreation Soccer Program is designed to introduce youth to the game of soccer in a structured, inclusive, and development focused environment. The program emphasizes learning fundamental soccer skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork while promoting sportsmanship, cooperation, and a positive playing experience. This program is open to players of all skill levels and encourages participation, confidence building, and enjoyment of the game.
The U6 age group will participate in training sessions and game play against other in town Burlington participants. U8 and older age groups will practice one to two nights per week and compete in 7–10 games per season in the Riverfront League, which is made up of nearby towns’ recreation soccer programs. This league provides structured local competition while maintaining a strong focus on player development and fair play.
Teams will only be formed if there are enough registered participants and properly certified volunteers available. All coaches and volunteers must complete the required certifications as mandated by the City and league guidelines. If you are interested in volunteering as a coach, assistant coach, or team parent, please contact the Soccer Commissioner.
The registration fee covers administrative costs and a competition shirt. There may be additional fees associated with the program, which could include team pictures, trophies, and end-of-season celebrations.
The Soccer Program is overseen by Soccer Commissioner Gabrielle Hodgson. For any program related questions, Coach Hodgson can be reached at ghinksllc@gmail.com.
Families are encouraged to register early and participate in a program that supports athletic development, teamwork, and community involvement through the sport of soccer.
